The beta terms, in plain words
Version 1
The free year is worth a lot, so here is exactly what we ask and how we count it. You agree to this when you first sign in. If anything is unclear, ask before you start: hello@semlastorage.app.
1. What you get
- Semla Pro for 30 days, from your first sign-in. The beta ends on the end date in your invite email at 23:59 Swedish time, whenever you started.
- Up to 30 photo lists. Plain photos, typing and voice have no limit.
- A free year of Semla Pro if you do all four things in part 2.
2. What you need to do for the free year
All four, by the end date in your invite email. Your progress is always in the app under “Beta”.
10boxes with what's inside them, in one storage
8different days you used Semla (added, moved or searched)
4check-ins answered: About you, day 3, day 14 and the big review
3written reports: a bug, an idea or something you liked
3. How we count
- Boxes, days and check-ins are counted by the app, the same way for everyone.
- A report or check-in answer has to be about Semla and say something real, in at least one full sentence. “Fine”, “ok”, copied text or nonsense doesn't count.
- Check-in answers don't count as reports. The 3 reports are ones you send yourself.
- We read every answer ourselves. If we think one doesn't count, we tell you before the beta ends so you can fix it. We never say no without asking first.
4. The free year
- Starts the day after the beta ends and lasts 12 months. It's added automatically; no card needed.
- It's for your own account. It can't be moved to someone else or swapped for money.
- When it ends you choose a plan or stop. We never charge you without asking; we email a month before.
5. If you don't qualify
- Everything you added stays, and you can still look things up.
- Your account works like anyone's after the free month: storages are read-only until you pick a plan.
- No extra days, unless Semla itself was down or broken in a way that stopped you. Then we add the lost days.
6. Fair play
- One spot per person and one account per spot. Your invite can't be passed on.
- You can leave any time; just tell us. You keep your data.
- We can end a spot for misuse, like fake accounts or made-up activity. We'd tell you why.
7. Your data during the beta
- We collect what's in the privacy policy, plus your application, your check-in answers and your reports.
- When you sign in we note the town or city you're in, worked out from your internet address, so we can see where testers are. We don't store the address itself or anything more exact.
- Beta data is kept until 3 months after the beta ends, then deleted or made anonymous. Your storages stay as long as your account does.
Short version: put 10 boxes with their contents in a storage, use Semla on 8 different days, answer the 4 check-ins and write 3 real reports, all by the end date in your invite email. Do that and Semla Pro is free for a year.
